I am curious if anyone has any experience or opinions about the hypertech programmer....I ask this because i saw they advertise no power restrictions with their programmer......I have a Predator and love it, it does all i need and i use the 40hp tune while towing my 37ft. trailer, but would there be any advantage to buying the hypertech and running it on the 90hp setting? can i do it? and for only being around $300 the price is not bad, Can I stack with my Predator?
Thanks

You can't stack the Hypertech with the Predator, as they are both programmers. There won't be any advantages to buying the Hypertech over your Predator. I ran a Hypertech a while back and had no issues whatsover. I always had it on the highest setting (level 3), and it ran about what my 6-gun does on level 3. The Hypertech will not bypass your speed limiter, either.

In my hypertech owner's manual it states something like this,IIRC:
level1- any weight
level2- 5000lbs (I think)
level3-no additional weight.
I'll check it and find out.Edited by: dmaxfan

level2- 500lbs (I think)
You must mean 5000 lbs. 500 is neglegable

I thought i saw a recent advertisement for the Hypertech stating that there were no restrictions for towing on any level.

They must have changed their programs up. I didn't go home last night to check my manual. I will try tonight.

I have a Hypertech and pull a fully loaded 2 horse slant w/ sleeping
quarters loaded down on stage 3 and a 32 ft. fifth wheel travel trailer
and have never had any problems. Don't know anything about
restrictions but, I love the powergain it gives my truck. I
dislike that I can't override my speed limiter. Just my 2 cents
worth.

txfiremedic, I didn't see in your sign. any mention of gauges?? If your pulling the horse trailer or 5er with the program at max setting you might consider gauges to watch you egt's.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley3.gif.
