Well im going to have my stealer look at my ''stearing clunk '' this week and i didnt really want to remove my blocker plate and stick. Do you guys think im taking a chance here? It was a real clean install and i soldered the connections to.

If they are just going to fix steering clunk, they shouldn't even be looking on that side of the truck

Yes. Right or wrong, the dealer may deny warranty work if they become aware of any modification. If the dealer's action is contrary to the Magnuson-Moss Act, your recourse is litigation.

Perhaps DP members in your local area can post the names of dealers who have demonstrated leniency in regards to warranty work and modified vehicles.

Just had my 06 LBZ in for the clunk that resulted in three trips to the stealer because they couldn't fix the clunk. Eventualy, after a new steering box, shaft they discovered the factory did not install the steering column bushing. Anyways...I Re-programed it to stock just incase and left the blocker plate and stick in the whole time. No problems! Oh yeah, no it doesn't clunk anymore.:)

as long as you have your wires in a loom and it doesn't look too different from factory wiring, they'll never notice.

My mechanic told me to put one in, if I do not want to replace the egr.

I have taken mine to the dealer 3 times in the last two weeks to fix that same steering clunk, and they have never said a word about the blocker plate. Just take it in and don't sweat it.

These guys ain't that good. You could show em where it's at and they would tell you it ain't there.

What is the blocker plate and stick you guys are talking about.

The blocker plate is to block the egr valve, and the stick is to keep your computer in check from setting any codes.

You can get them from kennedy diesel. There is also another vendor on here that sells but I don't know who. You won't actually notice any improvements. If you run an aftermarket exhaust then you would need to use this, otherwise it is a waste. Basically it keeps your computer from throwing an cels when adding a bigger exhaust.

No questions are stupid. I'm fairly new to the diesel world and have learned alot from sites like this one. Keep asking questions and do alot of reading and you'll learn alot fast.

But keep in mind that there is a search feature on the right side of the menu bar up at the top of this page. Use that and you'll find multiple answers on the same topic.
