My arm rest on my captains chair is cracked and I was wondering how one can remove it and then how would one replace it? Any ideas or just live with this poor workmanship?

You will have to take the entire seat apart. The back and the arm rest are part of a frame and once you get the material off the seat back then you can remove the arm rest.. Had to have this done on my last truck. The dealer will do it if under warranty but if not then you can do it yourself... Good luck

Sounds like it may be a pain in the backside. I guess I will live with it.

Thanks

Although it is a hassle, the arm rest has a c-clip holding it on. If you rotate the arm rest around, look in the area where the rest contacts the seat. It is hard to see maybe easier to feel. It is the same clip that is used on the old style window crank. The same removal tool found under the HELP label at your auto parts will take it off. When you put the rest back on, put the clip on first and then slide the rest into place.

Thanks Kirk. I may just remove it and take into an upolstery shop here in town.
