I ordered a XM commander off of ebay and have a few questions regarding
the install. I decided on the commander because i like the features it
offers over the factory-looking installs. Truck is a 2004.5 and has the
CD/Tape deck unit, didn't come with XM, and doesnt have the DVD
entertainment system. The truck also has onstar, which i do not
want to lose.

1) I do not want
to go the FM modulation route and have been looking for an aux audio in
adapter for my truck. Will the PAC AAI-GM24 work in my truck?

2) I already have a PAC AOEM-GM24 interface for my amps. Will this affect it in any way??

I've lurked on xmfan.com and cant seem to find anybody who's tried this setup.

I've searched this forum and found that a few of you are using the commander but nobody has given any details.

thanks in advance

I have the commander and installed it like the instructions said. Works fine, but I wish I didnt have to have a seperate screen for it, next time I'll get an OEM kit..

I use the modulation setting it its clearer then radio.

where did you mount your commander?

Kevmo:

The XM commander comes with a face bracket, my stereo dealer here took that bracket which fit perfectly into the overhead storage tray and mounted it there...it is nice and out of the way...but kind of a pain to take your eyes off the road and look up there when you want to change the channel...I hope this helped...good luck
