I have a question for those of you who have installed new stereos in your trucks. Since GM went with the integrated wiring harness on these new trucks I know that some of the wiring for things like the airbags, idiot light chimes, and other things pass through the radio. So if one were to go and pull out the existing radio and put in a new one does someone make a plug in module to keep the old wiring doing it's job?

Bye the way I don't have the bose, onstar, or XM radio if that matters. Just the bone stock one since it was going to be replaced anyway.

There are quite a few companies that manufacture what you need.

Here is a supplier that carries what you need and is an advertiser here:

That plug and wiring look like it's an inline module between the truck and the radio which is what I figured I'd need. That thing looks like it's exactly what I'm looking for. And not a bad price either. Thanks Max power! http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley4.gif

haha, sweet now I just gotta save the money to order one. Is there anything else I should know about putting in a new HU? like weird things about taking the dash apart to get to the unit or tricks for running the patch cables out of the dash and to the back of the cab? I haven't torn anything apart yet so I haven't planned it out but if anyone has any insight on the matter lemme know. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif
