so couple weeks ago my transmission adapter bracket cracked and needs replaceing. so im takeing trans out i still dont see why this cant be replaced on the truck without removeing trans but evey place i talked to said it has to come out of truck. so here i am i get to the part were i need to unbolt the torque converter through the starter opening well low and behold you need a special tool to turn engine crank shaft nut i belive? to get at the bolts anyone know what this tool is? its like a star shaped nut. are they cheap to buy or do dealers rent them? everything was runnin smooth untill this point

Not worked on that myself but will a twelve point socket not work ?

See if you cand fint a phone number for a local tool guy,Snap-on,Cornhole what ever. Or you could just use a pry bar to turn the flywheel through the bell housing.

I dont recall what size but i used a reg amercan 12 pt socket 1 3/8 i think but could be wrong.
