Does anyone use an Amsoil Duel Remote Oil filter setup, and if so in your opinions, has it been worth the investment?
I know Schaeffers is popular, but does anyone use Amsoil Synthetic Motor oil, or Rotella - T? If so what is the consencus?
Does anyone use the fuel filter with the glass bowl and petcock (water seferator/filter setup) All I have seen is the spin ons?
Does the handy dandy filter tool or Diesel tech handle all spin on filters or just the fuel?
Thanks everyone

Yes, I have a Amsoil dual oil filter BMK-17, and also am using Amsoil 15-40W synthetic oil. Also I have a primary fuel filter Racor RK32313, the bowl is made of plastic and has a petcock drain and also has a heater in it, also there is a sensor in that is hooked up to tell you if there is water in the fuel just like the factory fuel filter. I have a rock shield around the primary filter.
Also there is a Pre-Luber on my 04 GMC Duramax. I think if you are going to keep your truck, it is worth every penny I spent.

Ogre,
Refering to your Rotella T question; I use Rotella T 15w40 conventional in the summer, and Rotella T 5w-40 synthetic in the winter. I only use a Wix oil filter (57202), and change oil every 3000 miles or 100 hours. I've had very good luck with this setup, good oil sample results, and it doesn't use any oil.

Ogre;
I have a Amsoil dual bypass and use their synthetic oil also. Seems to work fine. Change the whit filter every 7500-10000 miles and teh black one every 15000-20000 miles. Just add oil change not necessary until you do an oil analysis ($20) that indicates necessary.

Have 15,000 miles on truck. Oil looks like there is carbon in it. Has anyone else noticed this ? I change oil & filter every 3,000 miles. First oil change was with Super Tech, since then I've used nothing but Rotella-T. :confused: :confused:

Stick with a quality oil and change it at decent intervals and all will be fine. Analysis testing can help you narrow down drain intervals, but 5k is a good point to start with for most oils.
