If a person does not have the 400 or so to put into 4" plumbing, will a straight pipe in place of the stock muffler (keeping all the rest of the stock exhaust) help anything. Add to performance?, lower egt's?, sound OK?, throw any codes or inhibit the system in any way??? Thanks...... :D

Taking the cat and muffler off also known as resanater will help your truck breath And yes it will give u a little more perfomace and sound good to

ive had same question for a while now. some ppl have told me that removing the cat will cause tripped codes, others say no:confuzeld . this is where blocker plates and fingersticks/programmable tuners come in. been wantin to do it myself too.
as for performance, lettin the engine breathe better is definitly gonna help power and removing restrictions (ie muffler and cat) should drop egt by 100* or so, possibly more
