So have any of you noticed a change in fuel mileage from one station to the next?

I guess I assumed that all diesel was the same....but I absolutly get better mileage with all things being equal when I buy from two of the four fueling spots that I frequent.

Yes. Up to 1 mpg variation based on location. There is one stop that drops one mpg any time I have used them. If I go to one of the other 2 places, it pops back up.

I have had a diesel pickup for a long time. On my 84 there have been seeming wild swings with different tanks. I am positive that all diesel isn't diesel even if it claims to be #2 or whatever.

It might help if there were some king of regulation to say what should be in diesel. You can never be really sure what you are getting. Wouldn't it be nice if you could know exactly what you were putting in your tank.

Maybe it's labeled #2 for a good reason?????
