I had the fan shroud off today to change my fan clutch. I'm going to be pulling and cleaning the rad....possibly tomorrow.
Question is, what holds the rad in on the bottom? Is it just the 2 bolt/screws that I can see in the bumper nostrils? Anything else hidden anywhere?
Any other tips/tricks would be appreciated with pulling the rad and the whole process of changing the coolant.
Thanks
Dave

Nothing holds the radiator in once you take the shroud and upper supports off. Just remember to disconnect the trans cooler lines before you start yanking on the thing. It's clamped in between the upper and lower mounts.

On my '95:
The upper brackets that hold down the Rad (4 bolts), the shroud (4 bolts), upper and lower Rad hoses, and transmission lines needs to be removed. I don't recall any bolts or screws from the front. Emptying the Rad fluid is always a joy..

Okay thanks guys. I was just looking around the bottom and saw what looked like a couple of bolts holding things on. I think maybe they are just for the lower shroud and not the rad.
By trans lines you mean the metal line that is threaded into the side of the rad?
Thanks,
Dave

Yes, the metal lines are trans cooler lines, be prepaired for trans fluid when you open them. Find some caps to put over the ends of the lines to stop the drips while you're working on the truck.

Okay good. Thanks again.
Now to completely drain all the fluid.....I have what appears to be a drain valve on the bottom driver's side of the rad. Just open that and open the cap on the reservior? Do I need to do something to acutally "flush" the system?
What is the total capacity of the coolant system?

I just get a big pan and pull the lower radiator hose off and let her go.

If your pulling it out, send it out and have it cleaned by a rad shop.
