I have gotten the "Service Brake System" message a few times now. Each time, it was after I had run the truck for a while and parked it. When I get back in to restart it, I get the message. All I have to do is turn the truck off, and right back on and the message goes away. This has happened 3-4 times in the last 6 months. I have the Edge Attitude/Juice installed. Edge says they have nothing to do with this message. Any ideas???

have you checked the brake fluid level?

Well, that's pretty obvious...Yes, the fluid levels are ok. The fact that the message resets after cycling the ignition points to a computer problem to me...just looking for others with a similar problem

Funny, My ABS light and Service brake light came on for the first time yesterday 38k miles. Drove a few miles, stopped restarted truck and no light.

Ditto here, I don't have edge or anything like that. GM says "normal" but I don't buy it. It started about 6 months after I got the truck, then dissapeared for about 6 months, and now just the other day it started again. I'm wondering if somehow it's got something to do with the lower temperatures outside.... I could be on glue, but who knows right?

Mine does it quite often and the dealer found that the computer was not plugged in properly and the computer had got quite corroded. They are still trying to fix it.

Some customers may comment that the ABS light, Service Brake System message comes on intermittently during initial start-up. The cause may be a timing issue related to the cranking/starting of the vehicles. Dontcross,

You say it happens at the track, are you spinning the rear wheels in a burnout box to warm them up? If so it might be that the rear wheels are moving quite fast and the fronts aren't and it confuses the computer. After the key cycle it resets itself.

The same thing happened to me at the dyno a couple of times and it reset itself with no problem's after the key cycle.
