Nicktane filter kits now include Quick-Disconnect fittings to snap onto the OEM fittings for easier installation. They can be released without the use of the standard QD tool also.

A FORD.

sorry couldn't resist.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley9.gif I have an old escort that has had 3 fuel pumps go bad. Those are the same connectors that are on the car. Never had a leak and have had them off several times.

Will you sell the fittings to the people who already have your kit?

I gotta believe the fittings are for ease of installation.Your not eliminating hose clamps but actually adding another union .

I'd leave it be,that's my opinion.

I hate to admit it but I haven't finished the install yet. Summer is over and that means no lake weather so its time to focas on the truck now.

mac is 100% right. i don't think they make it any better, just makes the installation a bit easier.. i mainly did it for the GM dealers i sell the kits to who install them when they sell the trucks. it just looks more professional from a dealer's perspective. for what its worth, i haven't put them on my truck, nor am i planning to. you still use the same # of hose clamps, you just have 2 extra fittings.

if you were going to switch them out you'd probably want to change the fuel line too, so i wouldn't worry about it.Edited by: Diesel Power
