I know it's not diesel or even a pick up...but I ran across this at
GMfullsize.com and it's close enough to give an idea of what an AR
03+ Chevy would look like with a buncha paint. The painted towing
mirrors look pretty good too IMO...enjoy...

I think it looks good with those mirrors on it and then they stuck an new body style front end on it... Nice touch.... I would drive it..

I had my mirrors smoothed out and painted when we did the bumper covers and wiper cowl. Here is another example, it isn't arrival blue but another example of the painted mirrors. MUCH better IMO.

That's it. I'm doing mine! I wish I had mirrors to stick on it while I'm mine painted. Stone chips are my only concern. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley18.gif

I have so many stone chips in the painted mirrors on my Grand Cherokee it's not even funny. If I were to paint the mirrors on my new HD I would get some clear 3m paint protection tape or something to protect it. Although dunno if you could get the tape to go on without creases on that kind of surface.

The shop I had mine painted by said they guaranteed the paint job on it for 3 yrs. They said they can't guarantee rock chips that are small but if it causes major paint issues, they will cover it. They use alot of flex additive to make it softer... I think it all depends on who does the painting and what materials they use. Also, as you can see I won't be doing much "off-roading" in my rig. We did do quite a bit of exploring yesterday in the Capitol Forest Logging roads yesterday. You should have seen the looks on peoples faces when they saw a truck with 22's in the middle of BFE after 10-15 miles of gravel roads...

Yea that thing is sweet look, but it is even more intimidating in person. That is one of the owner of bulletprofsuspension's trucks. Everything on there is painted or chromed. Too bad its only a 2wd. It is running their 12 inch kit, lift spindles, quadrasteer rear axle, on 44 inch STS's. I have escalade handles on the way and my fenders are being painted this week, I will have to post some pics when their done.
