: Which trans?

Well, I've got the new built motor in my truck again and just like last time I put this motor in, it blew the trans apart the first time I tried to launch it. :p Guess the ATS built 4R100 just can't hang at that power level and weight yet.

What I'm going to start saving up for is a built Allison trans with the adapter kit from De-Stroked.

So what vendors are making the strongest Allisons out there right now? It would have to be able to support about 800rwhp at 8225lbs while drag racing, pulling, and daily driving.

I wouldn't be against going with ATS again as they have taken care of me every time I've had a problem; I just think we may have found the limit of the 4R100.

I checked the Suncoast cite they offer a full billet 4R100--does your ATS trans come with the billet pieces? What failed?

800 hp at 8000 is asking a lot for a trans to take under your different racing situations--doubtful if even a built Allison would fair any better.

On the 2 occasions I tried putting this motor in I snapped a billet intermediate shaft, twisted a billet input shaft, and this time, iirc, busted the front drum.
