I'm getting ready to lose the kitty on my lly and I know that doing this will set some codes. I won't be installing the fingerstick right away and I was wondering if there would be any issuess with just leaving the codes in the ECM??

I haven't had any codes thown. I put a 4" down pipe with 5" straight pipe, no kitty, no muffler, no problems! You do need the finger stick if you add a EGR blocker.

Thanks for the reply Golddigger. I'm hoping to lose the cat pretty soon, and if it sets a code, I'll probably just leave it alone - i guess it won't hurt anything....

you will probably be fine,, but i do know that in some engines when it thows that code the truck will do some crazy **** like loose power and economy. That is probably more common on gas engines though

I know i may sound really stupid by asking this question, but i am new to the whole diesel thing but i have a 06' lbz with 3.5" delete pipe on my truck already but i want to chuck the cat and i dont know what a finger stick is. where does it go and how much, and where can i get it? i want to pull it off and if it dosnt thow any codes good deal but if it does i want to be pre paired on what i have to spend and where to get it.

I am also new to the diesel world, and am not 100% sure what the purpose of the EGR blocker plate is. I am also getting ready to lose the kat on my LBZ, and I know I need a finger stick, but do I need a blocker plate?

the only thing that has happened to mine is a few codes but they don't do anything to the truck and i leave them in for some time. the CEL never comes on the only way i can tell they are there is to plug in my hypertech and check for codes
