I really like them. I will probably end up with them as my next tires.

Great tires on road not bad off road

no road noise more than any other highway tire. I am not sure on the mileage but they will outlast BFG All terrains by a long shot

I had a set on my '05. I liked them a lot. They were 18's and I had about 35k on them, and I don't remember them looking like they needed replacing anytime soon. Rotated them at every oil change...
They seemed a little more noisy than BFG All-Terrains, but it didn't bother me. I like my truck's tires making noise. Then again, I also like throwing rooster tails in the rain, and filling people's interiors with black smoke:D

Best bank for the buck. I run 305-55-r20. Put 7k miles on em and they havent worn hardly any. Just remember w/ that directional tread design it has, its not a bad idea to keep em rotated and the wheels aligned.

good traction under normal conditions, but wear really leaves a lot to desire...........I WON'T be buying another set.......almost shot with 23K miles.

i had a set on my '98 and wore them out in 20k miles. traction on road was awesome, offroad left a lot to be desired. i won't buy them again. the tread life sucks.

i've had mine on for around 12k.. still looking good...excellent traction in snow and rain...pretty quite on the road , haven't really done any offroadin' with'em....and they ride pretty nice....even considering they're a 295 on a stock wheel..joel

my terra grapplers were OK. they werent to good in the mud but everything else was good. good traction both on road and in normal off road stuff, nothing extreme though. they are great in the sand on the beach. tread life was OK considering the number and severity of burnoouts inflicted on them.:D

I will get 40K on mine in the next month or so. Good overall tire..........low noise (although they are a little more noisy as the get close to the wear bars), balanced up perfectly, wear even when rotated and pressure checked regularly, never had a flat or lost much air. I thought they were a little loose in wet weather, as I busted them loose a couple of times and they seemed to wander a little when the street was really wet. That was not much of a problem here in Arizona.

I would definitely recommend them. However, I am going to run the Toyo MTs next, just cause I like the look.

Out!

25k on mine and junk. I wont buy them again either, in fact, I replaced them with a Toyo.

I have a brand new 285/60/18 Terra Grappler for sale if anyone needs.

you know toyo makes nitto...same factory, same molds, different tread...not sure if compond is the same or not...it seems that the toyos come with more tread depth when new...might have something to do with the difference in overall lifetime for tire...joel

I loved them until I went to southern New Mexico, they cut and chunk very easy in the rocks. I won't get them again.

Awesome tire for how much they cost. I had a set on my '02 Z71 I used for 3 winters(20" highway treads for summers) then put the same tires from that truck on my '06 'Max stock wheels when I got it. Not sure of miles on that set but it was alot.

Put a brand new set of 285's on 16x8 MT2's shortly after getting my '06 'Max and now have 18,000 on them, there is still easily probably 1/2 tread at least left.

They get a little growly when they need rotated but I rotate about every 5K miles. I keep pressures in check and spin them relatively frequently on hard accelerations.

Incredible in the snow, I hardly put mine in 4WD except when in passing lane at highway speeds with road COVERED. Excellent in the rain and handle very well in dry turns/on ramps, etc.

My first set of 285's were $508 delivered to my door fro www.discountiredirect.com (http://www.discountiredirect.com) and 2nd set went up to $532 delivered. I only put load range D on mine and not the E's as I dont haul HEAVY but I imagine if I did go with E's the mileage would be even better.

You wont be dissappointed I'm fairly confident in saying...

Good luck,
Mike:cool:

i have a set of 20" niitto Terra's also and love them. I put a set of them on my old GMC in the 16" and used them in the snow without any issues.

and i get far more compliments on my tires than i ever expected to as well.

My experience with Terra Grapplers is such that I would not buy again, 325/60/18, traction is fair, they gum up easily in mud, could not get mine to balance so had to have them trued and balanced on vehicle, an immense improvement on freeway trips, smooth. wear is fair they do make a mild hum on the road, I think they look great, but would need improvement before I would buy again, still on vehicle at this time, too expensive to replace until they are toast.... I agree with beach33...NITTO Terra Grapplers are NOT worth the money. They suck in the mud and they don't last. 325's on my truck with a 6" Fabtech, mileage is fine, but they will need to be replaced before hunting season starts this fall. Probably 45K miles on them and there's next to no tread left. If you want good tires that will last you for quite some time, I recommend the BFG AT. I had a set of 35X12.50s on my 2000 F-250 ran them 85K miles and still had tread on them. The BFG KO doesn't do much better than the terra grapplers in the mud, but if you're not worried abou that, go BFG. The DMAX will have BFG's back on it soon.

I have the grapplers on my truck and have no complaints thus far. They have about 5,000 miles on them. Very quiet and smooth. They are 285/65/18 on Moto Metal rims.

Toyo AT's seem to be not bad on the pavement but they are absolute garbage in the mud. I'm not talking a foot of gumbo here just about an inch of mud(getting to the boat launch) and i couldn't move.

Short story....... I was on the highway with a friend in the truck. Started hearing a loud high pitch hummmm. Turned the radio down and listen. Sounded like a remote control air plane. It would get louder and then softer. Really annoying sound. It ended up being those Nitto's on a H2 Hummer. I was going to get those tires next but after I heard that, I decided I didn't want to listen to that. I love the tire humm but that was ridiculous!!!!!! So, I guess I'm going to stay with my Swampers

had a set. lasted 30k. rotate, rotate, rotate. unless you rotate all the time, they wear horrible. and once they get to about 1/2 tread, they wear out fast. decent on the highway. a little slick in the rain, horrible in the mud. decent in snow. i got mine on ebay brand new wholesale for a right price. but won't get a second.

Simply not true about wearing longer than BFG's! I am a long time tire retailer, and the universal complaint I hear about the Nitto's is rapid wear. This is backed up by my experience with many customers. My buddy has a set of these with just over 12k miles on them, and they are all but wasted...not a surprise, as I see this a lot. The BFG may be a tad bit noisier, but they will outwear the Terra Grapplers hands down. I personally do not like the Nittos, -:t and would not use them on my truck, primarilly for this reason. But, opinions are like a--holes; everyone's got one. What the hell do I know though...I've only been in the tire business for 25 years!
