We have all read about the injector problems and a few of us have had first hand experence.

Please tell me what you think is causing the injectors to fail.

Bad fuel- need nore filters or just bad parts or what ever. Do you think this is just a western state issue? Is Dodge having the same problems with their newer engines?

I have an 04 LLY with 1200 miles on it. Had injector # 7 go out at 250 miles. I've been using Stanadyne performance formula ever since and I must say, engine runs allot smoother. You might try using some. It's the only one approved by GM and allot of guy's are posting fewer problems with it. The only drawback is it creates a nasty odor out of the tailpipe.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley3.gif I'm having the ECM reflash done tomorrow. I'll let you all know the results is a few days.

Mac1234,

I should have my 05 within a few days and if I can get GM to pay for the Stanadyne I would not mind using it. How much per gal of fuel does it cost?

On the other hand is it the fuel or injectors that need changing?

High pressure injector systems are relatively new and I think design engineering has some catching up to do. Also think diesel fuel quality has something to do with it. The goverment mandated the no/low sulpur law and now they need to mandate the quality of diesel fuel, incluiding lubricititiy, cetane additives and water content. Fuel manufactures can clean up thier act to, If BP can make good clean diesel fuel, so can the rest of them. if BP was available in San Antonio I'd become a devoted user.
