turbo lcc,

We don't use the shortie A pillar model available like the one you posted about, however we have a full length A pillar model available that's a little more money but we felt it would look better and it does fit very well. We are also looking to make one that fits in the upper factory console that is angled toward the driver to make the LCD screen easy to rear at a glance too. We also stock all the GM interior color paints and a special plastic primer.

Morning,

Nope don't have a pic yet my photographer isn't able to get here till late next week as we have a number of new items that need to be photo'ed at the same time. You can go to our Ford section under the 2003's in the gauge mount section and see the Ford one, I know that will cause some upset stomachs looking at Ford stuff, but it allows you to see how the Attitude will be mounted, all you have to do is imagine a full length A pillar attached above the area where the Attitude is mounted in the Ford.

I just put the half pillar in...in gets the job done. Much better option then the provided mount. Don't have a digital camera...otherwise I would post a pic. I paid 39.95 thru rpm outlet. I used velcro to mount the pillar....cause I am gonna get analog gauges asap. The velcro worked fairly well surprisingly enough.

GMC2500HD,

Yes but easier said than done, when I pay to have it put on the site it costs and then I pay a second time to have it redone later. I'll get one soon though.

Mark,

Will the angled one be mine? Different than mine? Or a copy?

Hadn't been following that thread to know what you were doing, sorry. No ours will be (if all plans out correctly) made out of ABS, and will tilt out of the right hand side to focus it to the drivers line of sight.

Yeah with the "buzz" we have had about the Ford 6.0 a pillar Attitude mount, and the Durmax full A pillar Attitude mount the roof console one just makes sense to us. The Dodges are in the works as well. Just need a 38 hour day sometimes !!!!

turbo lcc,

The site moderators don't like us to post prices, but lets say it's resonable as compared to a 2 or 3 gauge full A pillar as there is more material and more trim time plus the cost of the hard velcro etc in it. Call me if you want, I will also try to PM you.

Afternoon,

Just got a pic of the Attitude A pillar installed in a truck, it's on a flyer with some Ford mounts too (sorry)http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/uploads/MarkCraig/2004-10-20_135738_Newest-Edge-Flyer_For_web_use-ad.jpg so make sure you look at the correct pic to see the Duramax mount!

Almost forgot we also have the three GM interior color paints and a plastic primer for those that want to paint the A pillar to match the interior.

When are you looking to have the overhead console mount out. I
have been keeping track of trippin's mount and really like it compared
to the ats.

Thanks Markhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley1.gif

Mark,

I like the pillar mount but have a question. What type of hardware is needed to mount the pillar on the DMAX? The flyer says no hardware needed (Ford only). I kinda don't want holes or permanent velcro goo on my OEM pillar. Is that possible with your mount? Thanks

Its also one piece (runs full length like OEM) ?

Mark Craig

mpete05lly,

Can't give you an exact as we have SEMA, then the 2003+ Dodge Attitude mounts and then the Duramax 2,3 or 4 gauge windshield/overhead above the rear view mirror mount to get finished before we can get to the Attitude console mount. But we will get there eventually.

LA DMAX,

The full A pillar for the Attitude uses the push pins/rachets to hold it to the OEM pillar. You will need to make 4 3/16th's holes and push the pins thru both pillars. The outer ones are covered up by the weatherstripping, the inner ones are in the black out area of the windshield so seeing them is really only obvious is you really try to look for them. When driving or just looking at the mount you don't see anything if you do a good installation job. The other options are velcro, or double stick tape, with either of these you will have some clean up if you want to remove it but if you use the best quality materials they usually pull off in one piece or large pieces and don't leave any evidence they were ever there to start with.

Max Owner,

Yes it is a full cover for the factory A pillar and is full length to totally cover up the pillar, remember too we have the factory matching paints to color it the interior color of your truck if you want it to look like an OEM part too!

Could the OEM pillar be removed and install the aftermarket one?
Then swap out, if necessary? Seems like a waste to have two on.

Mark,

First off let me say I love the idea of having the Attitude on the pillar. You don't have to take your eyes off the road to look at it. I do have a couple questions before I decide to buy though. For those of us with the Bose stereo system we have small speakers in both A pillars. What does your A pillar cover do about these. Also can it be used instead of the original A pillar and what do you use to hold the actual Attitude monitor to the A pillar mount.

Thanks

Rich.

Mark Craig

bigblockquad,

The pillar doesn't have the speaker provision, easily cut out though as we have lots of customer that have already done it that way. The Attitude is held in place by what's called mushroom tape, it's that real hard clear velcro, not the fabric type. That way if you need to remove it you just pull it off real easily. The Attitude is also aimed directly at the driver, not straight back to the rear of the truck, we found that VERY important withthe LCD display as they tend to fade out if you're not directly in front of them, especially if you're a little over 40 or so!!!

Mark @ DPPI

Ok a revision is on the way, as the saying goes the customer is always right!! We will have the full A pillar with the cut out for the speaker as a stocking part number is approx 10 days. So speaker or no speaker we will have the Attitude mount for you.

Why not make a full pillar replacement. The only drawback I see here is that installing over the old pillar would give the truck a lopsided look larger pillar on the drivers side. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley5.gif

Any pictures of the set up? How did you route the Attitude wire, to the side of the dash or behind? Thanks for the input.

Mark;

Nice set up, and if Hdpoul is correct on just a small strip of 3m tape than it looks like it will work for me.

a bear,

Check those pics I posted we only make a full A pillar, the look of the paritial pillar on the Duramax just wasn't all that great. It works real well on the Ford's becasue they have a grab handle and customers want to keep the handle, but the Duramax needs a full pillar to look good.

LA DMAX,

There is also room for the wire to go between the factory pillar and ours at the bottom where the Attitude mounts. We set it up that way so you wouldn't have a bulge or anything when istalling it.

I used the supplied hardware from edge to mount my attitude on my A-pillar. I Already had 2 gauges on my pillar, so I mounted it above them. I really like it there because of the ease of access to the buttons and easy to read the displays. Check out my sig for pictures.

Mark,

Earlier today I ordered the pillar mount thinking I'd have to do some creative cutting to accomodate my speaker. Problem is, I just read your response to my question about the mount for us "speaker in the A pillar" guys about 6 hours too late. Is it possible to stop shipment of the order and wait for the revised pillar mount to come into stock so I can have the right one.

Thanks

Rich.

P.S. Can't remember the name of the guy I placed the order through but time was about 11:30 am PST

bigblockquad,

No problem except it's already shipped, the speaker ones won't be in for approx 10 days or so so if you want call and we will issue a RMA#, you send it back and we will send a speaker cut out one as soon as they arrive etc.

Thanks I do appreciate it. What should I do with the matching cans of paint. Should I open the box, remove the paint, then send it back or leave the box sealed and send it back.

Again thanks

Keep the paint, no use letting UPS win three times on it etc. Call us and get an RMA # for just the A pillar and we'll fix it up.
