Just finished doing the heater wiring for my Racor pre-OEM filters system, and I just can't bring myself to splice in the WIF wire in the method suggested. The instructions recommend splicing into the wire at the large electrical connectors on the drivers side of the engine. Wiring is tight in that area, and to get in there with a scotch-loc splice would require me to re-do some of the wiring loom that GM has in place (it looks as if I'd need to peel back some of the loom). I'm thinking it would be easier to run the wire (enclosed in black wiring loom) along the fire wall over to the passenger side, and splice into the WIF wiring from the OEM filter. Has anyone else done it that way?

I have tried to find the wire in the harness that goes back toward the fender well with no luck. Instead of Scotch Locs you could soldier it in back under the wiring loom.
