I noticed some are refering to the beds on their new LMM's as "short". I told my dealer to order a crew cab LTZ with the smallest bed possible and he refered to that in the LMM as "standard". That is what I see in the the GM brochures as well. The only true "short" bed appears on the half ton. Am I missing something?

It's habit. Crew Cab short bed or long bed. Hard to break that habit from so many years! Kind of like calling a sportside a stepside. It's ingrained. Standard is actually correct. The half ton has a shorter short bed available.

Not an LMM, but my cousin just picked up his new body 07.5 GMC Vortec Max and it's an extended cab with a 5.5' bed. I guess that a 5.5' bed is an option for the 1500's (mainly cc's) just like the F-150. He was surprised that it could be ordered as an ex cab. It gets a lot of looks, I can tell you that!

Yes, I like the shorter beds as well. I will have to live with the standard to get the LMM!
