Removed my bumper cap, lower valance and front fender flares tonight. I plan on getting them painted this week. I have a few choices <?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

1. Pay the body shop to sand them smooth, lots of money. I could do it myself but things never work out for me.

2. Buy a smooth bumper cap for 150.00 and 2 smooth fender flares for 95(dually so I only have the fronts) and I still need to get them painted.

3. The body shop said they could treat the plastic and paint them black, they would have a textured look. Has anyone see this before??

I had my flares painted on my black tahoe and they looked ok but not great I would spent the $95 or prep them your self

I should have had this done now, but I was just so upset of the whole deer thing. I have talked to many body shop owners, and they say to buy the smooth covers, not to sand and do it, because the paint will not last, and start to chip. Plus lots of times you still see a swirl or imperfection in the paint.
