Help me out guys this is my second post.I'm in michigan and it's starting to drop in temp. 46 degrees this morning.For the first 15 minutes I have a rattle almost sounds like a heat shield but if I turn the steering wheel just a little bit it goes away.I have a 01 extended cab. after the truck warms up no problem for the rest of the day.???

Check your belt tensioner. watch it see if it is really jumping around.
A rythmic bounce ( small oscilations ) is normal, really jumping the
spring could be getting weak.

Could also be your PS pump telling you is it about to dump ( shaft
breakage is pretty common, IF you loose PS you will also lose the power
assit for your brakes. )

A few ideas for you to check.
