I retired my LLY Edge, and now I need a new pyrometer. The Edge has a 1/8NPT hole.
Is there a pyro that will just screw into my existing manifold thread?
Any recommendations? I've never played much with pyros except on the 4th.
Pyro specs are a pain. I have an SPA DG211 and tried to get a
replacement thermocouple. They sent me four different ones, none being
the correct replacement. BTW it was 1/8
To answer your question... yes there are 1/8 thermocouples out there.

I'm waiting for a shipment of probes to arrive, but I could certainly set up a 1/8" NPT fitting with an Isspro gauge.
I've got some open tip units coming too if you want to scare the crap out of yourself/someone.
Worth noting: the open tip units are NOT compatible with the SPA

What's an "open tip unit"?

Here are some various probes...

Thick (http://www.uscom.com/~hoot/cars/duramax/gmc/egt/EGT_probes/thick/)
Thin (http://www.uscom.com/~hoot/cars/duramax/gmc/egt/EGT_probes/thin/)

What's the benefit - response time?

Looks like the *life span* could be a result of thickness?
