I am taking my truck in for service on Friday for a knocking noise around 1800-2000 RPM and tranmission feel like its is moving while your foot is on the brake, like someone is tapping you from behind while your sitting there. I have been reading on here about people unhooking their Edge products before they re-flash the computer. Is this to keep the dealer from knowing bout the chip or becuase it needs to be unhooked for the flash to work? I have the Attitude on my truck and I was wonder what I should do...Dealer told me he would warranty the truck if I did put a chip in it and I believe him because I have known him for several years and have bought new trucks from him every year for the past several years as well. Sorry if these are stuiped questions but this is my first diesel and I really like my truck and I just dont want to have problems out of it!

be safe and unhook it

I would unhook it ASAP and drive it around till service time.
That will give the computer time to cycle and clear any info from
your chip.
Dealers have a way of telling if you have a chip in your truck by
the boost, temps etc. And they are aggressively seeking ways
to void a warranty on an engine, after all it’s money in their
pocket if they do.

Kendall69,

I also agree with you about taking it out o fthe truck but the dealers like to see these trucks in for service! It would be GM that would want to bust ya but since they are on this site every day it would be very easy for them to tell who runs chips. I haven't heard of the General busting anybody yet for doing it.
