I've been running my truck with EGR disconnected, haven't had any problems, plug EGR in to take truck to dealer, left plugged in for a few days and in level 4 or 5 on attitude, wide open throttle, my dmax will go into engine limp mode. Limiter only allows engine to 2000 rpm's. If I shut truck off and wait 1-2 minutes and then re-start, no problems. The second time it happened I disconneted EGR again and haven't had it happen since. It seems with high boost it will cause this. EGR disconected 30.5 psi boost no problems. Seems to be EGR related, so I'm curious if any one else has had this problem besides myself and DSTRBD.

its happened to me a couple of times when i was trying out the edge - that and the turbo bark were the reasons i got rid of it. Edge didnt have an answer either, so who knows why that happens, but it definitely does !

It throws a P1093 (rail pressure sensor) code and goes limp. Mine started doing it with Juice on 5, then 4, and all the way down to level 0. This was while towing about 11K. Had to remove Juice. I plugged it back in with the load just to see, and it tripped right away. Had to leave it disconnected to finish the trip. When home I plugged the Juice back in and no problem without the load up to level 4. Edge doesn't have the answer, at least not yet. I have removed the cat, don't know if this contributes to the problem.
I hope it is EGR related, and that blocking the EGR and installing the Finger plate will maybe eliminate the problem.
Justified, are you running cat-less?

When I disconnected the EGR, my truck refused to make full boost with the Edge in place. I don't remember the specific codes, but it threw codes that caused the PCM to take action. It dyno'd 290rwhp stacked. I know it makes more HP than that, closer to 375.
At this point, I suggest not to disable the EGR by unplugging it if you are running the Edge. It certainly had an adverse effect on my truck.

I'm running my cat still. As far as the boost with the EGR unplugged I have seen as high as 30.5 on the attitude. I just went to New York with it for a snowmobile show, pulled 12k pound trailer out there, got 9.8 mpg. Pulled trailer back with 6k pounds got 9.8 mpg. I thought for sure it would do better than that. I tried level 2 on attitude, level 1 and even level 0- stock, coming back, all were the same mileage. I plugged the egr back in around Chicago, that didn't matter either. Let me tell you though, my friend I went with is a big 7.3 power stroke guy that we have done mods to and he couldn't believe how the DMAX pulled, she pulled like it was no tommorow, the big hills would come and it would't down shift at all. I love this truck, just thought the mileage would be a little better. I'm switching to synthetic fluid in motor, I also hope the mileage will get better since it's only got 9400 miles on it. One more thing I know there has been talk of rpm/mpg. I pulled at 2100 rpm pretty much through out the whole 2300 mile trip.Edited by: JUSTIFIED HD
