I was pulling a 6% incline yesterday towing around 1200 lbs. I did what I always do left the truck in OD and enabled my trailer tow button. The next thing I knew the truck down shifted, my no overdrive light lit up and my rpm red lined @ 3200 rpm. I was traveling @ 65 mph and when the truck down shifted I started losing speed. From that point on it was a struggle to keep the truck @ 55 mph all the way up the hill. After topping out it took another 3-4 miles before the OD light went off and the truck up shifted and regained speed. I kept my eye on things the rest of the way home and the truck seemed gutless even on flat ground. Am I doing something wrong or is there something not right with the truck?? Why did the no OD light come on? In a nutshell the truck didn't seem to have any get up and go after the incident and I am wondering if this is normal.

The same thing happened to me the other night while getting on the freeway...wasnt quite sure what was going on, i posted in the tranny forum about it.......if you keep your finger on the tow/haul button for about 2 seconds that light will come on and the tranny wont go into OD........press and hold the button again and it will enable OD...hope this helps.

Talked to the dealer yesterday and got the skinny on the no OD light. Sounds like it was self inflicted. The thing that concerns me now is the lack of performance my truck had even after the truck was back in OD. Talked to a guy yesterday and he said the fuel filter may need to be replaced and that could be the reason for lack of power. I did not notice any performance problems running around town empty yesterday but am thinking the vehicle may need to be under a load before the problem will surface. I have only 5700 miles on the truck could my fuel filter possibly need to be changed already??
