Hey guys, I noticed a few weeks back I have a slight "miss" at idle that I think may be related to either a failing or bad injector. The motor has around 85k on it so I figured I may as well replace the injectors sooner than later. I found some retailers on e-bay, but as with all things on there, I am not sure how good their quality is. Where have you guys bought injectors from in the past and how much is a fair price to pay?

The only wear item in the injector is the nozzle. New OEM Bosch or Stanadyne nozzles cost - over the counter to anyone - around $6 apiece for C-codes and $9 apiece for J-codes. Cost less to someone buying in bulk. When you buy a rebuilt injector from a reputable seller- they have new OEM nozzles installed. There are also sellers using cheap Chinese nozzles - they may, or may not be as good as OEM, they certainly cost less - sometimes $3 each. And, there are also a few sellers on Ebay advertising "rebuilt injectors" for 6.2s that are NOT rebuilt and have NO new parts. They are just cleaned and tested - and are a waste of money.

A person rebuilding injectors has to spend about ten minutes replacing the nozzle and testing it, and perhaps more time cleaning the whole assembly so it looks good - although it has nothing to do with performance. So that makes $25-$35 apiece, exchange, a fair price.

Thanks, does anyone know of any good shops in the midwest or Indiana area that do injector rebuilds?

Whats the difference between C and J code nozzles? would using J code nozzles on a C code be a worthwhile upgrade?
