Lets see your sub/amp addon setups to bose system. Would like to add an amp/sub to my system. I will use the pac AOEM-GM24 adapter. Would like to get good idea of what works well with factory bose system. Im thinkin of a pioneer shallow mount 10inch and 300rms ish amp. I will build my own box for under seat probably. Any advantages to building a downfire box? Any plans on internet for boxes for crewcabs? Lookin for some good volume and bass to complement system, not really looking to set SPL records or show up any teenagers.

I don't have a crew cab, but I went with (2) 12" Rockford P2's and a Rockford 800 watt 2 Channel Amp. I used the Pac Adaptor to hook into the factory head. The install went really smooth, I put my Amp behind the rear seat. Also under the hood I hooked the power supply up to where the 2 batterys meet.
I got my box from subthump.com, great box. They have boxes for crew cabs on there also, but biggest you can go is 10" subs.
good luck,
Dan

I'd consider fibreglassing your own if you were to do it. You just need to be a bit handy at fabrication.
I came about the idea when nobody made a box for 12" subs for 1998 ext. cabs, also, all the boxes available had the subs facing forwards which guaranteed them to be kicked in once you get a few rowdies in the cab. So I used cardboard to make a template for the curviness underneath the back seat. Made an MDF form for the size of the box I wanted. Then I layed out a bunch of news paper and tin foil, set my MDF form on it and went to town with several good old boat repair kits, Bondo brand, from Canadian Tire. Then I used MDF to make the top and set the subs in it. Wood glue and screw everything together nice, and finish it with some black carpet.
The one I made for my old 98 Z71 was great and sounded awesome. After that one turned out good a buddy wanted one for his 02 GM ext Cab. That one turned out even better and sounded great too. Made one for the bro's dodge, for a 10" sub, it turned out nice too.
I thought about doing one for the Dmax but Ive grown out of the big stereo age I guess. That, and I still havent figured of a nice way to get 2-12" subs underneath the back seat. It would have to be 2 seperate boxes which would cause air space issues for the subs. In general you want about 1 cu. ft. minimum for one 12" sub. Most manufactuers say about .8-1 for decent sound. Too much air and you wont get a hard hit out of it, too little and it wont be loud and will distort alot.
If anybody undertakes it there is really only one recommendation, and that is to use the weaved sheet of fibreglass... not the matting. The matting is basically just random fibers and it makes a terrible mess. Using the sheet is alot nicer and easier. If anyone is interested in more info send me a PM. Ive done basically everything wrong so I know what not to do.
