Just have to tell somebody!!!......After three months of waiting (to
the day) the truck is mine - all mine (except for the part the bank

You will not believe this!



Go to drive the truck (with less than 10 miles on it) and the steering
sticks. No - it doesn't stick a little - it sticks to the point
where the truck goes around in a circle!!



Turns out the steering shaft tube is bent. Only thing the dealer
can figure is the shaft got hit when they were putting the engine in it
on the line. Dealer says I can have the truck tomorrow after part
comes in. I say no - that won't work as I have plans for towing
in the AM that can't be cancelled.



I finally talked the dealer into taking the steering shaft off of
another truck which was on the lot and putting it on my truck.
Dealer closes at 6:00pm and getting it done (if there is no further
damage) in time is gonna be close.



Hope this has a happy ending. First a long 3 month wait, then this. Hope this is not a bad omen.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley18.gif

Dealer got the steering shaft replaced. Did a 600 mile round trip
today. 400 miles of it not pulling at x-way speed of 75 mph.
200 miles of it pulling a 24' camper at 65 mph on x-way (all
mostly flat). My first mileage report http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley4.gif.

Allison trans takes some getting used to. I love the big rig sounding grade braking / downshift it does in T/H mode!!

Congrats, You finally got it, now go have fun. Mine is at the rail
yard. When it gets to the dealer off it goes to get all the goodies put
on. Might get it in 2 weeks!
