Got no response in another area so..., my truck will crank & the key will come back to the point of releasing the starter but it will not let me turn it off. I was having trouble with the starter engaging & spinning up to cranking speed, replaced it & it still acts like it has a bad solenoid. Click, click, start. The keyswitch has to be turned pretty hard to crank & it felt like something over-rotated & hung up. Yesterday it happened & a guy that works with me said he just turned the steering wheel & it released. That didn't work today. Any ideas?? Thanks!!

Last year, my '93 would not turn off. The key switch was limiting me to start and run positions. I had to disconnect the batteries to stop the engine. The next day, I reconnected, started it, and drove it to my mechanic. He replaced the switch and key. All is OK. You may also have weak batteries, solenoid, or starter going bad.

On a 93 gas job, won't shut off, replaced key cylinder only, electrics were still OK.
