Does anyone know if the LLY on LBZ egr blocker plate will fit on the LMM?

I heard that they updated the egr. I would say it would not work, but I do not know for sure.

Call your dealer and get the P/N for the EGR gasket for an LMM.

The P/N for the LBZ gasket is 97372002. If it's the same, it will fit....

The blocker plates are not even similar. We should have them ready for sale in the next couple of days...

They physically block the egr gasses from being put back into the engine... These are for offroad use only!

Dan@PPE said they are a mother to install on the LMM, so good luck. Way easier on the other motors than with the new LMM becuase of where it is located. No instructions?

Don't you hate it when you get a little part like that EGR blocker plate and your like, "Ha! This will be easy!", only to find out that they buried it deep within your engine compartment?

Didn't 07 diesel regulations change the amount of exhaust gas that had to be recirculated by the EGR? Thought I read it in Dieselpower, but that is probably why it is so different on the LMM.

Will blocking off EGR, cause it to throw a code?

JPR5690

Yes.. In most cases

Duromax04
07-02-2007, 06:41 PM
Can't you just tune out the EGR function and not have to block it off? If the EGR is off, it should be closed, therefore blocking it for you. Much easier to close it from the drivers seat.

The plate is in! WHAT A F#(@ing differnce in MPG. Power sems liek it might be up a litle hard to tell but Wow im averaging 2 somtimes slightly more miles per gallon with the plate in. It also is a good feeling knowing that soot isnt blowing thru my turbo!!

It was a BEOTCH!! but well worth it!! The LMM is way harder that any Duramax ive ever put a plate in. as with other year trucks and blocker plates the thing i found most helpful is to take the plate before your installation begins and wire wheel all the sharp edges down so that they are round. This helps in two major ways. A: you wont cut your self on the plates sharp square edges trying to slide it down into place. B: It slides into place better because the shapr edges do not catch and get humg up on your EGR gasket and this allows it to slide into place easier. I dont know if it threw a code or not I already have the check engine light on from my 4" turbo back straight pipe. Thats giving me abuot 4 or five codes so who knows if the plate set a code?????

I did this mod before on all of my other D-Max's, but seeing how all of you guys are saying its a pain in the ass, I might come up with a new trick by spraying some of the Home Depot triple expanding foam in the line instead to block it off  :smashfrea

Could someone post a picture and just give the general location of this beast?

Also, will making this adjustment throw any codes?

I tried to do mine the other day. I took pictures and everything. Got the wrench on the top nut 12mm and the hardest one to get to. Wrench slipped off and my thumb found the exhaust heat shroud that covers this little pecker. Put 2 stitches in my thumb. Now it's WAR. I will win but this thing puts up a fight.

I am on a business trip right now. When I get home in a week I will put the pictures up.

Until then, it sits behind the intake tube on top of the engine behind the motor up under the firewall. You can't really see it. You kinda have to feel for it. My pictures are just to give you an idea of the location.
