my wifes uncle's truck has a hard time finding the gears with the lever. it is very loose and to put in reverse you have to pull it down into 2 or 1 then for drive you have to really pull it down more. is there a way to adjust it or what? thanks

There is probably a plastic bushing between the shift rod and arm that is shot or missing completely. Just follow the linkage and you should find the problem.
