: Random "chirping/squeaking" noise? InTentsDmax 09-28-2004, 06:35 AM Recently my truck has begun making a random chirping/sqeaking sound which seems to be under the cab someplace. It doesn't sound suspension related. Anyone have any thoughts? Thought I had read somewhere awhile back about loose torque converter nuts or something . Thanks a64pilot 09-28-2004, 08:01 AM Mine has been doing this for a couple of years now. Does it seem to come from about your left knee? Try to see if it corresponds with the A/C compressor cycling. CB_Rocket 09-28-2004, 10:59 AM my '02 does the exact same thing. it just started a month or 2 ago. it sounds like its coming from somewhere around the left side of the engine compartment. it's totally random, does it at idle as well. it sounds like a belt slipping, it only 'chirps' for a split second, but it sure is noticeable. Mine definately happens when the AC compressor kicks in. Could a relay make this kind of sound? Probably the belt chirping when rhe load hits it, funny though that the sound appears to enter the cab around your left knee. Put on a new Goodyear Gatorback belt and you will never hear it again. | ||
