Got into my truck this morning and the pda alarm on the six gun went off and said loss of obd data. This alarm caused all of my gauges in the truck to go dead. Also will not allow me to start truck unless I unplug the six gun from the factory port under the dash. Tried putting it back and same thing happens. The truck was not ran for a week and the tuner is only a month old. Any ideas, going back to where it was installed is a real pain.

I am having the same problem. Banks replaced the tuner and the OBDII data cable and I continue to have the same problem, I have had the truck shut down twice while running down the road. I am still working with Banks to figure it out. I am thinking about replacing the PDA. It seams that problems arise when I scroll through the PDA screans and the return back to the gauge screan. I have soft reset the PDA and this will eliminate the problem for a short while. :(

Had the same problem since I got the tuner. Working with Banks since last year and it is slow going. They just send me a firmware update for the six gun to solve the various problem and I installed it last night. First test run went great but this morning I got a fault again. Could be my MAF Sensor. Will clean this up and try again. Let you guys know who it goes.

I talked to Banks today and they said coat the 38 and 24 pin
connectors with dielectric grease. They claim that this helps the connections between the factory connectors and the banks Connectors. I don’t think this is the best idea, dielectric grease tends to harden up over time. Banks claimes this is what they do when they have installation problems, like ours, in their shop. I guess they know what they are talking about. Has anyone ever tried this?

Yeap, cover everything with HIGH quality dia-electric grease,At times Hard resets may be necessary.and watch those tuner versions,We run 1.5 in all applications Except LBZ.Ver1.7

T and C, did covering the connectors with the grease stop the 2.4 and 3.2 codes? If so why? Doesn't the grease not conduct electricity and worsen the connections?

No,Check to make sure that the pins are equal, chaffing will cause the connection to be poor couple it with additional variation's that all diesel produce may cause intermittent or connection issues, that what the grease is for,we do not push any connection back together with out it.MAKE sure you use TOP quality grease.
Also for the 2-4 check the main harness connection on the Allison...becareful NOT to push to hard and mis-align the connection so that you push the Female end back into the Pan..This will ruin your Day, and you may have to Drop the trans pan to push the female end back into the correct position.

I coated everything with the dielectric grease and I still am having the same problem (Banks code 24 and 32). The problem seems to worse when the truck is warmed up and then put into reverse. (Banks code 32 sets and truck stalls). The idle seems to be a little low at times, power brakes and steering sluggish.

I talked to Eric at Banks and they are working on a new program to resolve these problems. It goes to show you Banks is committed to their products and making them work correctly.

Lost power to my accessory outlet and discovered a chafed ground wire on the upper lip of the dash support. fixed the wire and relocated it. Plugged in teh tuner and had no codes 24 or 32 for about 300 miles and six starts. Knock on wood that it will stay that way.:D
