My wipers seem to have a mind of there own. Sometimes when I turn them on they will stay on even though I have turned them off, or they will stop in the middle of the windshield, or not stop at all. Sometimes the int. will not work, it will just stay on fast even though it is suposed to pause.etc.

What is the problem here?Edited by: Elky

Under the hood there's a cover over your wiper motor, takes a Torx something or other screwdriver to remove the cover. Sounds to me like the circuit board under there has crapped out (well not yet but its getting real close). There's 2 contacts on the board that the brass tips wear out on, if you bend the contacts for better contact they will work for awhile. I'd pick up a new board though soon. I can't remember what i paid for mine, maybe around $60 Canadian. I've replaced several. Its an easy job!

What year is your truck?

Call your local dealer and have them check your vin for recalls. It probably has one for windshield wipers.

It is a 1994 GMC sierra 1500.

There was a recall for the wiper motor circuit?

do they replace those boards or do they just take them out and re- solder the harness tabs?

They replace the whole board.

When I had mine done, they said to just stop by anytime. It took about 5 minutes.
