: LBZ alive again!!!
Tazman10 04-29-2007, 03:54 PM Well, after several long days, the LBZ is back together and being driven. No issues so far except for a very small oil leak that I have not located yet. Just trying to put some miles on it to break it in on a stock tune. Hopefully all the fine details will be done in the next few day and then we can tune it up for the pulling/drag racing season.
carcrafter22 04-29-2007, 04:12 PM congrats!! I'm sure you will let us know how it runs.
IOWA LLY 04-29-2007, 06:39 PM Sweet. So how many pound of oil pressure is it running/idleing at??
What I mean is you mentioned in another thread somewhere that you were going to try something to raise the oil pressure.....So did it work?
Tazman10 04-29-2007, 08:21 PM We are idling at 42 PSI at 208F coolant temp with 15W40. Hopefully our R & D is done for a while and we can get to racing. We still have couple of nights of hard work to deal with a few small issues but I'm hoping the worst is behind us.
We went back to the ATS trans since it seems to hold the high HP a little better. Barring any unforseen issues, we shoud be ready to go in a few day. We look forward to seeing everyone at the track.
dmaxlover 04-29-2007, 08:58 PM Hopefully those new piston last a little longer this time around.

You are still using the LBZ block arent you?
If so what did you have to change to get that much oil pressure?

What kind of transmission were you running before??
Good luck on the new motor!!:)

Beat me to it. :)
So Ric your 'fix' for the oil pressure seems to be doing well? Are you using an LBZ block and pistons?
I dont suppose you would be willing to share the oil pressure fix........:D
Tazman10 04-30-2007, 08:16 AM The oil pressure issues wasn't that hard but we need to make sure it will not inflict any issues with the turbo. We are keeping a close eye on things to see if everything will be ok.
Transmission,
We were running a Suncoast stage 4 but it kept hurting clutches about every 4-5 pulls but the ATS extreme (knock on wood) has never had any issues and seems to shift a little better. Suncoast builds a great product but in my application, they just don't seem to hold the high HP. I tried tightening the clutch clearances and doing a few other tricks but the truck was actually driving through the Suncoast clutch material.
Tony Burkhard 04-30-2007, 08:44 AM soon we will be running to gether......
Tazman10 04-30-2007, 08:56 AM As soon as you get yours together so you can come down. I'm planning on seeing you Friday......now get to work!;)

Tony Burkhard 04-30-2007, 08:20 PM Taz, dont forget to tell them about that 8 HP Honda running your remote oil pump...:D
blizzardplowman 04-30-2007, 11:59 PM :funnypost GM just put in new motor in my Dually, spun rear thrust bearing... Oil perssure on dino 15w40 is 70 psi on start up, 30 hot at 15oo rpm, first tow in tuesday....funny thing is I lost about 5 psi hot from my old motor:rolleyes:
Tazman10 05-01-2007, 08:09 AM Tony,
My redneck dry sump system is a secret. The Honda motor was a little to much so we reduced it to a weed eater motor!!!!;)
MAX707 05-09-2007, 10:13 PM Hey Taz what kind of tires do you run? Size? and what do you think about running proxes?
Tazman10 05-10-2007, 12:47 PM I run the BFG AT's. I don't have any experience with the Proxy's.
