Here is my impression. I've been on this site for about 2 years and love it. Before today I've NEVER driven a Dmax EVER. the last diesel I drove was a 93 ford that was WORN out LOL. I currently have an 05 1/2 ton Z71 Burb.

I got to drive a 2500 CC/SB

1. the power was not overwhelming, but it only had 6.1 miles on the odomiter.

2. i DID NOT honk on it too much, I could tell there was more power there than I was using

3. The throtle felt very (I'm not too sure how to describe it) disconected and required ALOT of effort to mash down.

4. This thing drove like a TANK LOL !!!! The front felt very heavy, but not in a bad way mind you.

5. I loved the manual shifting with the allison.

6. it was quiet, but you still knew it was a diesel. It sounded like a "refined diesel.

I know it's not going to drive and feel the same as my burb, I did not expect that. BUT I loved it, and I'm deffinatly gonna get the wife up in it with me (without the sales man (I do not want to beat on the truck, but I feel more comfortable without Mr. sales man in it) and see how we (she) likes it.
I just need to get them to let me drive the CC/LB with tow mirrors, cause that's almost Exactly what I'm looking for. I agree with some of the people here I've got sticker shock, but for me I'll end up driving this truck into the ground, so I'm willing to get EXACTLY what I want LOL If I've gotta drive it for the next 10-15 years, I'll pop for the extras.

LOL = Laughing Out Loud... You'd use it if someone told you a joke or made you chuckle while reading a post or joke over the internet to let the person know that you found what he typed humorous.

I'm glad you liked the truck, i have the 07 classic coming from a 05 5.3 GMC sierra and didn't find the power until i was cruising a freeway speed and lightly coaxed it to pass someone on the way home from purchasing.
You really know what you got when you have 10k behind you up a hill.
