: Edge Juice - Stock Exhaust EGT’s

Just installed the edge juice with attitude on my 04 with LB7 engine package and stock exhaust system (for now). I am NOT going to run on a setting higher than level 3 until a 4" exhaust upgrade is installed.

I've done a few searchs through this immense site and can't seem to find specific answers to the following questions:

1. What is the safe maximum EGT to set the attitude controller at to defuel to protect engine components? I have mine set currently at 1200 degrees F (GM doesn't exactly tell us what temp will cook engine components)?

2. Safe Max engine temp?

3. Does entering new tire sizes actually reprogram tranny shift points (i.e. corresponding to engine RPMs), or does it recalibrate speedo only?

Thank you in advance to any who can assist in this matter. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Hug.gif

I think the general consensus on max EGT is 1250 prolonged. Many run VERY hot for shot periods of time. . . Tomac I think said go for it the DMAX can take it.

As far as max engine temp? Well, there are differing opinions on that as well. There are several threads discussing overheating. You could read for a week just on the search results for overheating.

Entering new tire sizes does nothing to your speedometer, but you can display speed on the Attitude to see what your actual speed is. It also doesn't do anything to the shift points.

Thanks baimpala. 1,200 it is then for safety. It only seems to approach that when I really walk on it off the line anyhow...http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Embarrased.gif
