Yeah, I just saw $2.05 for "supreme diesel" at a Shell along I-35. Most places around Austin are in the $1.90 + range. This ain't right! http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif

We are all complaining about the high price....it's even higher than PREMIUM unleaded. I never followed diesel prices before I got this truck, always had gas before, but I seem to recall that diesel (until I got this truck) was always at or below unleaded. What has changed? Instead of complaints can anyone tell me why it is so high, and what if anything we can do about it?

I have been saying this for awhile that the diesel price is going up because of the war effort. Every piece of military equipment that does not fly uses diesel fuel.

"bass-ackwards", now that's funny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All motor fuel prices went up 12 to 15 cents a gallon over the last week here in Vermont.

I am glad I pre-paid my home heating oil (red dye diesel) a couple of months ago.

http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley19.gifWas in Burlington, Wi. last night. A KwikTrip there had unleaded for $189.9 and fuel was $209.9. When I picked up the truck in July, fuel was $0.20 @gal cheaper, now $0.20 higher. For me, that's Murphy's law in action! Glad I wasn't trying to save money by switching to diesel power!

Robert,

Hasn't crossed the $2.00 mark north of Dallas...yet. The Anna truck stops are at $1.99 and in Van Alstyne I can still get diesel at $1.95. I'm sure this isn't going to last long!

Think of it this way. Same truck with a gas engine getting 12 MPG would cost a heck of a lot more to operate...even with the horrible price of diesel! Still luv the truck!!! http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley4.gif

Max, you also get 19 mpg with that hand shaker. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gif I know what Robert is saying. I went to work one moring and it was 1.81 and came home it was 1.91 and now it's 1.99 a couple days later. I filled up with well over a 1/4 tank just in case it went higher than the 1.91. I'm about ready to drain the swimming pool and fill it up since it only looks like it will get worse. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley3.gif Don' t think the wife and kids will go for that too well.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/hihi.gif

I am still paying more per mile for the wife's gasser, so I'll shut up now.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley9.gif About $0.12/mile vs. $0.16/mile but that doesn't include the added filter costs for my truck.

The HEB in Elgin, TX hung on to $1.66 per gallon from the last week of
August up until 2 weeks ago - now it's at $1.86. Everyone else in the
Austin area is between $1.95 and $2.05. Ugh! http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley7.gif

At least my other diesel is a TDI getting 50 mpg! Not much good for
pulling a travel trailer, though.
