I feel silly asking this because I am almost sure it is the batteries but since the batteries are still under warranty I want to know what I should do. I used the truck at 10pm last night and everything was fine. I get in at 7am to run to the store and when I went to start it I heard the cd player clicking and the dash lights flashing. It wouldn't crank at all. I figured it was the batteries. All the cable are really tight. I can get new batteries but my question is, could it be something else? Or, since I still have the GMPP warranty, does it cover batteries that are still under a 7yr/78mo. replacement warranty? I know batteries are a maintinance item but they are the originals and look like they are still under warranty. What would you guys do? I would usually just take care of something like this myself but I figure since I paid for a warranty and they don't want to help my truck feel better in the summer(like how I toned that down to not creat a stir?) I ought to make them pay for anything they should have to.

First off, the battery has a replacement warrenty only for the first 3 years, I think (certainly no longer than that). After that, it is prorated.

One of the things you should check first is both battery's connections. For some reason, they have a tendancy to loosen up over time and cause all kinds of weird problems. I've even had this problem on an S10. Don't tighten them too tight - you risk screwing up the battery teminal. If you find they are loose, even a little, remove it and clean any corrosion underneath the terminal/connector before tightening.

Simply the batteries. All is well.
