I just got done changing the wiper switch on my 91 silverado. I had to take the steering column apart. There is many small pieces but the hardest was to put the metal steering wheel lock plate back on (it looks like a throwing star). You have to push the lock plate down so you can get the metal clip on. The problem is the spring has a lot of force. I had to put 3 wheel washers and an ajustable wrench under the nut the tighten it down enough to get to the slot where the metal clip pops on. The dealers must have a special tool for this.
