: Low on power?

I just bought my '07 GMC Classic 4x4 ccsb D/A, it now has about 200 miles on it. My Dad has the same exact vehicle, but a Chevy, that he purchased about 2 months ago. Here is my issue:

When I drive mine, it feels like it has good power, but not like the strong rush of acceleration I recall driving my Dad's truck. My truck is moving, but you really don't feel it in your back like my Dad's truck. They are both bone stock. I am wondering if the tolerances in my truck are such that it is a little low on power; or maybe still really tight? ( I know only 200 miles).

Any opinions? Will it losoen up and I will feel the turbo kickin a bit more? These diesel are new to both of us so we don't know what to expect.

Thanks,

Nick

The Alli has learn how you drive. If you tow something with the truck it will really wake it up. It will take some time but it will get better, trust me.

Ok, I am counting on it. Here is something funny: My truck was a dealer trade from Manteca, near Stockton, CA to Sacramento, CA. I am sure the saleman who made the trip, was much more aggressive of a driver than I am. My last vehicle was a 1997 Land Cruiser and to get any kind of gas mileage, you really need to be easy and drive like grandma. So, that is the way I drive now. The first 100 miles was beat on and now the next 100 is really easy, I wonder what the ECM is 'learning'???

It takes allot of miles for the engine to loosen up good. When my 03 was new it had like 2 miles on it. I drove it home from the dealer and with only about 5 or 10 miles on it I floored it. I almost got sick on my stomache, I thought it was missing a couple of cylinders it was so slow. After about 30 miles it was allot better and improved up to about 5000 miles.

Humm mine never really could tell with mine but that could be because i was putting the edge on it while the guy was running the paper work. I bought my truck with 2 miles on it and it came out of the dealership with the edge already on it came out of the dealer right across the street to the exhaust place he just happen to have a intake for my truck so i had exhuast in intake put on it at a total of 3 miles and drove her home givin her hell the whole way. Change my oil at 1,000 miles and has been a great truck sense

I know its hard to do but run a new one a bit harder than your usual driving habits.Babying it to see what it will do for mileage just is not the thing to do!There will be plenty of time later for that.
