So the end popped out of the air wrench, basically the entire valve where the air goes in and the trigger pushes. Odd. Dug out the book for it, it had part numbers. That was part of the reason we bought a craftsman last time so we could get parts. So I went to the sears site and ordered a 2 dollar clip. 2 actually, might as well have a spare, and still less than what shipping is. Supposed to have little tabs on it but ours broke off evidently. Still pretty cool that it was easy to find and order. I was happy about it. Hopefully they get it here soon.

Would'a cost $80 to fix the same Snap-on tool. Anyone wonder how I know...?..

The Nice part about Snap-on's program is that is cost $80 even if you need all but 1 piece. I had a 1/4" air ratchet rebuilt and the only piece the was original was one half of the case. New this tool is $300.

I ran into this backorder stuff with Sears, too. I'm not shure if they ever fill some backorders or not. I hope that you have more luck than I have had.

Buy a new one, disassemble to remove clip, reasseble w/o clip, and return.

Install "borrowed" clip in old tool.

Well now it says backordered but has a ship date of next week, so I guess wait and see.

Came in yesterday in the mail. Woo! Took the wire off the air wrench and put the clip in, it hasn't fit that tight for a long time. Much nicer. Now hopefully we don't lose the spare clip.
