wondering if it would hurt the motor if i just dumped the exhaust from the turbo down pipe? no front pipe or exhaust system

Hurt the motor....Nah....Hurt everything around the outlet of the downpipe due to extreme heat......YES.:D

+1 always thought about that but waiting for someone else to do it first.

I come from the high performance gasoline world, and a big problem we always have with running shorty headers on a high perf car is the valves will snap after shutting the car off cause the cold air will come back up the header and contact the piping hot exhaust valves.

I cant imagine cold-ass air could be good on thin aluminum vanes of the turbo.
