I am an avid Duramax fan. I have an 02 GMC CC D/A 4x4 with an edge box. My cousin just got a brand new 4 door f250 two wheel drive 6.0 and wanted me to teach him to race. I took him for a drive. I stopped on a deserted county road and proceeded to teach him to powerbrake the truck in 1st. I rolled the truck to 3rd in a stand still and rode out the burnout 100 or so feet http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif . At about 55 I let off the gas half way to slow down. I heard a loud bang. Like a huge baloon popping. I pulled over and everything looked fine. At takeoff the truck had very little power and was smoking like crazy. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Dead.gif Well my cousin is pissed at me. I figured a fitting on the pressurized side of the intake blew out. Anybody had this happen. Any ideas what happened????

Did you check the intercooler boots?

I would be pissed at you also. I think it would be funny if he would kick your azz all over the place!!! Learn to take care of things.

He is a moron. He thought I had blown his motor. He would not
listen to reason. After doing some reaserch I called him back and
bet him a grand that it was the drivers side intercooler hose,
evidently a very common problem on those trucks. He said ok.
Never called me back. Word is he's lighting em up all over town now
with his new launching technique.
