I Have a '94 6.5 Turbodeisel. I disconnected all fuel lines and wires but am having problem pulling out the fuel pump from the engine body.

I loosened up and removed 3 nuts which are holding the fuel pump but the pump is still stuck in the engine.

I suspect it's something with the gear? I've been messing with this all afternoon.

Any help much appreciated!

remove the two ½" nuts holding your oil filler neck, remove the neck and the grommet in the timing cover. You will need a 15/16" socket and ratchet to roll the engine via the alternator, one at a time you will be able to bring the 3 ½" bolts that hold the pump to the drive gear. Remove these three and she should come right out for you.

Be sure and notice where the key is in relation to the three 1/2" bolt holes. Set the new pump as close to this position as possible before inserting.
