Well folks,, you've read my story,, held my air back while I puked,,, ect.
Thanx for all the info I've gotten here, to help me get on the right track.

I was at the dealership today,,Mech says,, " When I took out the torque converter bolts, it looked like maybe the fly wheel was broke, But it wasn't you could move the end of the crank around by the fly wheel."

Yep 144000 miles,, 50 miles after oil change,,, it broke at 70MPH. still running when I shut it off. So he has it ready to come out,,, all unhooked,, says it will be on the floor by noon on friday swapping all the stuff out,,, I kinda feel better knowing,,, but now I'm wonderin if I'll get my core money back or not! I got to drive her for 1 week,,, and its been down 2 weeks on friday! I want my truck back,,, I want to play,,, I'm still wonder if I should break her in gently like a fine lady,, or drove her Like I Stole it,, like an old Wh#*%. ;)

Wendsday, I grabbed my upper intake, and my PMD harness,,, Today I spent a few hours drilling and tapping the boost port, then plugged it shut,, and then I extended my harness by 6ft. Really sorry I forgot my camera,, I was in the mood to do pics, and show all,, but sometimes I'd forget my nards if they wernt attached!! Anyway,, got some shrink tubing,, some factory harness sleeve, and cut wires, stripped, pushed cut ends together,,,, smoothed them out and soldered them,,, and covered them with the wrap. That should give me enough room to move it out to the bumper area.

Weird some guys are on 200000 miles + and some cranks broke alot earlier! I guess stay up on the oil changes,, huh? My new block is a 141,, is that good , bad or what?

Not sure about good or bad, probably more or less the same as all the rest, I believe 141 would be a non-oil spray block, about 1996 vintage or so.

Get her warm and drive it like you stole it. Excessive idling of a new engine and not driving it hard causes the rings to glaze. Beating it forces the rings into the bores and assures a fast, perfect seal.

Hey Dave did you end up with a 2 or 3 piece crank? We are just starting to put a 6.5 together. Probably send it to get checked and machined over to Potterville as they seem to do good work.

Purpose of running the engine while drilling\tapping for EGT probe is so exhaust will blow the savings outta the hole - not to heat the manifold.

Not much worry with cast-iron, anyway - shavings are teeny curls, pass right thru, maybe clean up the soot, a little.
