Tuesday evening my 03 Silverado Dmax wouldn't start. It turned over, but thats it. I checked all the fuses, and then checked to make sure I wasn't sucking in air from the fuel filter somewhere... Everything checked out, but it wouldn't start. Finally I fell victim to the Stealer, and called roadside assistance.
They just called me today to let me know that both batteries were dead, and replacements would be about $400.00 installed!!! I then explained that perhaps the batteries were dead because I was trying to start the truck for 20 minutes. Duhh! They were going to charge them up and call me back. I haven't heard back from them yet.
Any ideas on what it might be? It was a little harder than normal to start a few days earlier.
Thanks,

WOW! I can't believe 2 batteries would be that expensive! Costco sells the Optima Batteries for about $120 each.

Everything is stock. I just got a call back today from the stealer. They informed me that all 8 of my injectors are bad. Seems weird huh? They said they were all leaking. Keep in mind my truck only has 43k on it.
Has anyone else had injectors fail this early? I hope this wont be a problem in the future.

it happens, the first set in my truck were replaced at 31000 miles, and the truck is at 176000 miles now, so the second set are doing fine....

I'm glad to hear that, I was a little nervous. I spoke to a tech who said the Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel here in California may be a cause for the injectors failing prematurely.
Hopefully everything will be fine though.
-Thanks for all the input!

ULSD meets Bosch published standards for lubricity and viscosity. It is not killing injectors. According to warranty claims, they were failing faster before we had ULSD... I don't like it, but we are stuck with it. I just wish people would quit trying to blame the LB7 injector problem on new fuel.
My 2 cents...
