OK, I am a newbie, just got my first used 06 Sierra 2500HD Duramax/Allison(what a H%ll of a truck) and I have a couple of questions. Got a great deal on it, with 56K on it but after talking to the previous owner, all highway miles. I have 285/75R/16 Bridgeston Dueller AT's that were on the truck when I bought it, almost like new. I also trimmed the fender a small amount and the front bumper slightly because of rub.
Two questions:
1. How do I know if the previous owner has an offset on the wheels.
2. What is cranking the bars? And how do I know if the previous owner did this?
Thank you ahead of time for reponses.

Hey Paul. Welcome. I pretty much had the same rig aas you..month ago it was stock too. Mild suggestion is - run like hell and never come here again if you want your wallet to stay closed..!!

anyway..can't answer the Q on the wheels, but the bars would be the torsion bars. - look under your unit & you will see a pair of long bars about 2" OD that are about ~3' long..? they run from your front suspension to about midway of the truck. These can be "cranked" to help level out the truck. Be advised as I was that doing so will likely shorten the life of the upper ball joint....as told to me by a buddy who happens to be long, long time GM tech.

...still a newb as well...learnin all the time. But what the hell, simply the best trucks around.:D

Cheers,

Theo
