What the heck is the piece of plastic coming off my airbox. It is a tube of black plastic coming off the front of the '90 where the airbox hits the turbo and it goes nowhere?

Commonly referred to as the 'turbo muffler' some say its designed to quiet turbo sound, its either that or a small buffer to help with sudden changes of air demand when you hit the gas. its nothing terribly important whatever its intent was.

Thanks, I'm looking at trying to redesign the air intake and I wanted to find out what everything was first. I thought it might be a filler piece on my truck if the factory had something come off there for other models.

Winchester,

What are the exhaust plans?

Well, I'm looking at putting 3.5" all the way out the back, taking the cat and muffler off. It seems that I should also replace the crossover pipe, not sure where this is but I bet I can find it.

If you creep under the truck you can't miss it. It crosses over where the motor meets the tranny.

Kinda figured that, hadn't looked yet. Needs to be done right? I'm thinking I might can come up with a way to take the factory 90 out of the airflow.

1-5/8" freeze plug fits in the hole when you remove the turbo muffler.
